A biology and chemistry graduate, with master´s studies in Biology (Mycology area) at the Universidad de los Andes as well as master´s studies in Government and Public Policy at the Universidad Externado de Colombia. She has been a researcher and university professor, and has directed programs in Biology Education as well as Biology.
Since 1997, she has been General Director of the Amazonian Scientific Research Institute SINCHI. During her administration she has managed to consolidate scientific research topics related, among other things, to the inventories of flora, fauna and microbiota; utilization of the biodiversity supply of the Amazon region through the generation of knowledge, innovation and technology transfer for local comminities; generation of information for the counrty in terms of the Amazon; knowledge of the borders, and the necessary aspects that must be taken into account for the design and implementation of public policies that contribute to the sustainable development and conservation of the Amazon region.
Forestry engineer graduate, University of Florence, Italy. He has a master´s degree in Science and Natural Resources from the University of Michigan, USA, and a Doctorate in Planning and Conservation of Natural Resources from the University of Michigan, USA.
He has extensive experience in environmental management and information, land management and sustainable development, as a result of his activity as an environmental consultant and advisor for development projects and experience with national and international public and private entities in the environmental sector. Since 2014, he has served as Science and Technology Deputy Director of the SINCHI Amazonic Insitute of Scientific Research.
Attorney, specialized in Civil Procedural Law; she has a Master´s in Quality Management ISO 9001: 2008 and Internal Auditor - European Quality Formation. She is certified as a CGAP Government Auditor - IIA Global, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Civil Law at Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain.
She has extensive work experience thanks to the various positions she´s held in the Public Sector. For over 5 years, she has been the Head of the Internal Evaluation Advisory Office of the SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute.
Attorney specialized in Criminal Studies, Univerisidad de Caldas; with a Master's Degree in Government and Public Policies from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
For more than 6 years, she has served as Advisor to the General Directorate and to the Planning Office of the SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute. She is also certified by the SIPA at Columbia University and is an Expert in Local Development at the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization - O.I.T. Turin, Italy.
Botanical biologist graduated from Universidad de Antioquia, with more than 20 years dedicated to the research of the flora of the Colombian Amazon at the SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute.
He currently serves as Coordinator of the Natural Resources and Ecosystems Program, and as Director of the Colombian Amazonian Herbarium - COAH. He has focused his work on floristic studies of the Amazon region, useful plants, threatened plants and introduced plants. At the same time, he has developed projects on zoning and forest management in the Amazon region. These studies are documented in close to 45,000 collected botanical samples, which support the information recorded in 21 scientific articles, 25 books and 14 book chapters.
Biologist with a Master's Degree in Science - Crops Physiology from Universidad National de Colombia. She has a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences from the same University.
She counts with more than 20 years dedicated to the service of the SINCHI Amazonic Institute of Scientific Research. For almost 5 years, she has served as Coordinator of the Sustainability and Intervention Program, where she formed the Promising Fruit Trees in the Amazon research group, with a long history in the generation and transfer of technology and innovation in the region. Her work has centered on the use and generation of valuable attributes of Amazon plant species, as well as the transfer of knowledge about them for sustainable use.
Agronomist with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems from Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas, with a Master's degree in Environmental Management for Sustainable Development from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
For more than 20 years he has worked as a Researcher for SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute. He is currently the Coordinator of the Models of Performance and Sustainability Program.
Sociologist with a specialization in Regional and Urban Development from Universidad de los Andes, with a Master's Degree in Rural Development from Universidad Javeriana.
With more than 19 years of experience dedicated to research at SINCHI Amazonic Institute of Scientific Reseach. He is currently Coordinator of the Socio-Environmental Dynamics Program. He has carried out scientific research in population dynamics, territorial occupation processes, urban development, agrarian economy, livestock production, coca production, indigenous groups, zoning and regionalization.
Economist with a specialization in Development Projects from Escuela Superior de Administracion Publica, ESAP, with a Master´s in Sustainable Development of Agricultural Systems from Universidad Javeriana. He also has a Ph.D. in Globalization, Development and International Cooperation from Universidad del Pais Vasco.
He has more than 20 years of experience dedicated to research at Amazonian Scientific Research Institute SINCHI in the socioeconomic, socio-cultural and traditional knowledge aspects associated with agrobiodiversity. He is currently Coordinator of the Shared Management Program of the SINCHI Institute.
Marine Biologist from Universidad del Valle. He holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences from Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain, and holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the same university.
For 16 years, he has been attached to SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute, currently he is the coordinator of SINCHI's main headquarters in Leticia, Amazon. He is a leader and researcher for the Aquatic Ecosystems group, with particular interest in fish, their diversity and their current and potential use, for conservation and exploitation through fishery management, fish farming and environmental management schemes. He has participated in more than 50 written texts published as books, chapters and articles.
Veterinary Physician and Zoological Veterinary Technician, with a specializatoin in Management and Recovery of Degraded Areas from Universidad UNAMAZ, Belem - Para, Brazil, and a Doctoral candidate of Agrarian Sciences at Universidad de La Habana, Cuba. He has over 21 years of experience working for SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute. He currently serves as Coordinator of the Florence Office.
Veterinary Physicial and Zoological Veterinary Technician with a specialization in Genetics, Nutrition and Animal Reproduction from Instituto Agronomico Mediterraneo de Zaragoza - I.A.M.Z., Spain. With a Master of Science in Animal Production from Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agrarias - I.N.I.A., Madrid - Spain.
His last 20 years have been dedicated to the service of SINCHI Amazonian Scientific Research Institute. He is currently Principal Researcher and Coordinator of the San Jose del Guaviare Office.
