ECOSYSTEMS AND NATURAL RESOURCES PROGRAM

 

Program Description:

This program advances the characterization of the ecosystems and natural resources of the Amazon region in topics such as flora, fauna, hydrobiological resources, genetic resources and soil microorganisms, to provide information oriented to their knowledge, use and conservation.

In this process, biological collections are established that allow documenting the biological reality and guide the formulation of public policies, which promote conservation and sustainable development. In this sense, it fulfills its objective of "providing, with criteria of sustainability, the scientific basis for knowledge, monitoring, administration and integrated management of natural resources in the different Amazon region ecosystems."

Institutional Strategic Objective:

To provide, with sustainability criteria, the scientific bases for the understanding, monitoring, administration and integrated management of the natural resources in the different Amazon region ecosystems.
