Biological collections are documents that support scientific research and serve as a basis to understand, conserve and sustainably use the natural basis of the country.

The biological collections of COAH (Colombian Amazonian Herbarium) and CIACOL (Ichthyology Collection of the Colombian Amazon) are the product of different research processes and follow processing, curation and access standards that allow to keep the specimens in good condition and available for consultation following the protocols of use.
