SHARED MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

 

Program Description:

This program seeks to promote from scientific research, the shared management of ecosystems and natural resources, from the generation of knowledge about widely used resources (fishing, wood, water) and the activities developed by its inhabitants that generate high pressure on the environment (deforestation, mining, disposal of waste, among others); through participation in strategic intersectoral integration programs that contribute to the definition of research, management and policy guidelines for the sustainable development of the Amazon region, which includes the border integration zone.

This implies the identification, formulation and development of alternatives that contribute to the sustainable management of resources, the mitigation of negative impacts, and the recovery of biotic and abiotic elements and their ecological relationships, under a specific and eco-systemic focus, that supported by shared management, consolidate the guidelines and policies that lead to a balanced and inclusive sustainable development in the inland and border Amazon areas, in search for a harmonious development between society and the ecosystem.

Institutional Strategic Objective:

To participate in the strategic intersectoral integration programs that contribute to the definition of guidelines regarding research, management and policies for the sustainable development of the Amazon region.
