Program Description:
This program promotes a better understanding of the conditions and effects of demographic, social, economic, political and urban changes in the Amazon region, as well as its multiple interrelations with the biophysical environment in which they occur.
Among the purposes of the program are: the establishment of a baseline that provides information on the state of knowledge, data, maps, and databases of socio-environmental issues; the analysis of governance and institutions for sustainable development that allows for a state and governmental vision on the Amazon, public policies, institutional and local capacities; the support to the inhabitants to generate capacities that helps them to formulate, to suggest and to recommend public policy interventions in the Colombian Amazon. All of the above in order to guide processes of social stabilization and improvement of the living conditions of all the inhabitants of the region.
Institutional Strategic Objective:
