PAN-AMAZONIA

This region is made up of the surface area of countries that have jurisdiction or territory in the Amazon River basin, and/or have forest cover and /or belong to the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (ACT). The territories of Pan-Amazon have similar political, socioeconomic and environmental characteristics, but geographically they differ, to the extent that some share zones of Andean relief with the Amazonian plains, others such as those of the North Atlantic fringe do not belong to the watershed, but they have forest cover, and others such as Brazil, have most of their territory (70%), in the plain.
